Hello, I’m Joonpyo Hong.

I’m a board-certified otolaryngologist in South Korea, and CuriousMD is where I write about what happens when ENT medicine meets new insight, artificial intelligence or cutting edge technologies.

Why I Started This Blog

Somewhere between clinic hours and reading the latest research, I started noticing something: New insight, AI was quietly reshaping parts of medicine that most ENT specialists weren’t talking about yet. AI-assisted diagnosis. Machine learning. Large language models being used — and sometimes misused — for medical advice. And so many others.

I wanted a space to think through these changes out loud, and share what I was learning along the way.

What I Write About

My writing focuses on three areas:

ENT × AI — How artificial intelligence is being applied
to ear, nose, and throat medicine. The research, the tools,
and the clinical reality.
ENT Insights — Clinical pearls, patient education, and
common misconceptions about otolaryngology.
Tech & Medicine — Broader medtech trends that matter for
ENT: telemedicine, wearables, digital health.. etc.
